The Lurik

$45.00

Lurik — which translates to ‘stripes’ in Javanese — is a seemingly simple but storied fabric. First traces of the woven cloth are found in Javanese Hindu inscriptions in the 800s AD. Lurik has its origins in common-folk––worn by villagers, or used for everyday tasks, like carrying jamu (a traditional Javanese medicinal tea sold door-to-door) or swaddling a baby.

Handwoven on a traditional floor loom (ATBM) in East Java, Medono Village, each yardage are handcrafted to precision taking up a total of 3-6 months for a bolt of #MadeRight fabrics. You may personalize your order with the set of stripes design and natural dyed colors of your choice.

**Order by meter/yardage or bulk are available. Contact to inquire at maderightsupply@sukkhacitta.com
*THE HANDWOVEN samples are available in a set of 12 variety at $45.00 USD
